There are many books that teach children about vampires, wizards, and witches.  There aren't may books that teach kids about GOD.  Through the character of Atillah Thehun Harris, author, Peg Kleve, teaches children about GOD, Salvation, and that Miracles DO happen! Sometimes, things in the holler are never what they seem.  There are days that go by, and people think they know everyone else's business.  But, for young Atillah, the whole town knows about her Pa, the town drunk.  As far as the family can tell, not a soul knows about the terrible secrets they keep hidden.  Even Atillah's best friend, Becky Jo, could never possibly know how bad things really are at home.  There are some things you just don't share, even with your best friend in the whole wide world!  One day, a visitor came by Becky Jo's house, and life for Atillah started to change.  She learned who her mother talked to in the wee hours of the night, and found a friend she never knew existed.
